Well here's the results of my Xmas gift certificate buying spree!
I had to use it at my local quilt shop. (the one you went to with me). They happened to be having an after Xmas sale so I thought I might be able to combine sale items and get good buys. But when I got there I just wasn't in the mood to buy anything winter-y or holiday. SO I walked and looked, and thought. I found this book...
She Came From Kansas- it's a 12 quilt block book featuring 12 women (from Kansas) a little history and a quilt block devoted to her. I think I can use this over and over to do many projects. LIW is one of the famous women. Funny how even though she wasn't born or died there she is still embraced by that state, and claim her as their own.
The quilt shop was $2 more than Amazon, after I got home and looked it up. Not too bad. I also bought 6 large spools of thread in neutral colors that I use a lot.
Yep, that took the whole $50 gift certificate! I had to add another $2 to fill in.
But I am happy, because I have thread for a ton of projects and the book will give me inspiration for many more. I wanted to have something (the book) to keep and remember as my gift from the girls, rather than buy fabric, kits, and more stash that I might not get around to sewing.
